The Patuxent River Liberty Learning Academy is designed to support hands‑on, practical training that helps our teams strengthen technical skills and prepare for real‑world maintenance and service needs across our communities. Serving employee‑owners in the Mid-Atlantic Navy/Marine Core Region, this new academy expands access to high‑quality learning opportunities closer to where our teams live and work.
Purpose‑Built for Hands‑On Learning
These stations feature two bathrooms, a kitchen, a water heater, a boiler, and an HVAC unit, allowing participants to practice and refine their skills in a realistic, controlled environment.
One standout feature of this academy is its exterior wall system, which allows learners to see and understand every layer of construction — from framing and insulation to moisture barriers and exterior finishes. This visual, hands‑on approach helps deepen understanding of building systems and reinforces best practices in installation and maintenance.
Supporting Employee‑Owner Growth
The facility will host monthly workshops, providing consistent opportunities for skill development, collaboration, and professional growth.
In conjunction with this new academy, Liberty has also partnered with Interplay Learning, offering immersive skilled‑trades training solutions in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and appliance repair.
