Liberty Military Housing team members serving the Santo Terrace at Murphy Canyon community were recognized on a national stage this June as finalists for the National Apartment Association's Military Community of the Year award. The distinction honors communities that go above and beyond in serving residents while making a meaningful impact in the broader community. The recognition reflects more than operational excellence. It celebrates a team committed to creating a place where military families feel supported, connected, and cared for every day.

Through responsive service, exceptional maintenance performance, meaningful partnerships with local organizations, and more than 100 resident events each year, the team fosters an environment defined by consistency, compassion, and genuine care. Their commitment transforms Santo Terrace from a neighborhood into a true community, where residents know they can rely on a team that understands and supports the unique demands of military life.
But what truly distinguishes Santo Terrace is its people. The community is supported by tenured, knowledgeable staff who understand the unique challenges of military life and lead with empathy, dependability, and care.
That commitment was never more evident than during one of the most difficult moments in the community’s history when a plane accidentally crashed into a section of the neighborhood, damaging homes and displacing dozens of families. In the face of devastation, Liberty’s onsite team responded immediately, working alongside first responders, military leadership, federal and local agencies to ensure safety, communicate information early, and restore stability. Their swift response was a powerful demonstration of Liberty’s core values – Commitment, Integrity, Empowerment, Respect, and Communication – as teams served not only with urgency, but with heart, empathy, and extraordinary dedication.
